It’s Victoria, this is the 7th day we’ve had torrential rain fall on our heads. We started the day planting some frijoles and zanahorias in the garden, and we’ve been talking about planting seeds which lead to a harvest. The harvest for the seeds the team planted will be a soup kitchen for people who can’t afford to feed their families. That’s pretty amazing, and I would love to see that harvest.
Our devo this morning was titled “Transformation Not Change” I really like this one in particular because it spoke of transformation, clearly. God caught my attention with this one because my life didn’t just change it completely transformed when I accepted Christ. I went from a little girl who thought her past defined her and was deeply wounded. I didn’t know how to love. I accepted Jesus Christ and over time I learned to “use my past as a platform.” I’m healed, unashamed because of mercy, and God has shown me his love. I see now how much my Father loves me. Now I want to share his love with people everywhere. The devotion mentions that “God wants us to be involved in his work of transforming others and the world around you.” I believe this is why God sent me on this mission to help God transform others the way he transformed me.
Well enough about me. We went shopping today! Girls gotta love shopping. I think I can speak for my whole team when I say it was a fantastic experience. The stores are small and don’t have bathrooms but we had helado. Everyone’s pretty satisfied with the souvenirs they bought. On the way back to the cabana we caught a ride in a taxi. It wasn’t just any taxi, it was a moto-taxi. It’s super tiny and makes a vroooom vrooom noise. This thing didn’t even have headlights. Good thing the sun was still out. We reached the Cabanas safely and had a nice 2-hour siesta that was much needed.
Pray for unity in our team, strength from the Lord, and healing of those feeling sick with a cold.
